Christine Windeyer

As one of the founders of Spectrum, Christine has been instrumental in developing the operational framework for Spectrum’s investment management business, including establishing polices for its credit investment portfolio, compliance with its Australian Financial Services Licence, along with general regulatory oversight. Christine brings to Spectrum extensive experience in the Australian debt markets. She has a strong background in credit analysis and policy and understands the documentation requirements that are required to protect investors. Christine continues to be responsible for Spectrum’s overall operations and management team, and chairs Spectrum’s Compliance Committee.

Prior to establishing Spectrum, Christine had over 25 years experience in the Australian debt markets, working in senior roles for leading domestic and international banks, including Citibank, Westpac, National Australia Bank, Chase Manhattan. After a strong grounding in credit analysis at Citibank, Christine moved to Westpac where she established Westpac’s Loan Syndication Unit. As Head of Loan Syndications she arranged ground breaking loans for privatization projects, including the initial financing for Loy Yang B power station, start up financing for Optus to fund its entry into the deregulated Australian telecommunication market, along with significant loans for major Australian and international corporates. She was responsible for origination and documentation of syndicated loans, a process which also involved extensive negotiations with participant banks covering credit and legal aspects of the transactions. Her Westpac team was regularly ranked No 1 in Loan syndication surveys. Christine has also had lead roles in major debt restructures, including as a Joint Lead Arranger for the $7.6 billion News Corporation restructure. This involved extensive negotiations with 145 global banks. As Head of Debt Origination at NAB, Christine was responsible for raising funds for NAB’s major Australian corporate and infrastructure customers, through Loan Syndications in the bank market or Funding programmes in the Australian public debt markets. The latter involved the origination and documentation of Funding Programmes which provide the mechanism for Australian Corporates to issue debt securities to institutional investors.

Christine holds a BSc from the University of Sydney and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the University of New England. Christine represented NAB on the AFMA debt markets committee, has held a number of external board positions and is currently a Governor on the Board of Oxley College, Bowral where she chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.
